The twelve signs of the zodiac represent types of energy. Most people are familiar with these signs, particularly in respect to their Sun sign. Usually when a person refers to themselves as a Libra or a Taurus, they are talking about the zodiac sign in which the Sun is placed. While the Sun sign is important in Astrology, it is only one part of a far greater whole. In fact, each of the 10 planets that we deal with in a natal chart is all placed in a particular sign of the zodiac and express through the energy of that sign. Additionally, each house in a horoscope is modified by the sign on its cusp. Referring back to our play analogy, the zodiac sign is the costume that the planets wear.
